These centers support the largest underserved patient populations with obesity and Luro Health is reversing their obesity rates  with support, including nutrition, fitness, and treatment adherence guidance, thereby improving patient outcomes, streamlining clinical workflows, and generating additional revenue for community health centers.

Steven Kuyan

Co-Founder & CEO

Steven Kuyan co-founder and CEO. He is a founder, investor, advisor and former patient of Sunset Park Family Health Center in Brooklyn. He co-founded Culina Health, transforming it into a telehealth nutrition leader by managing strategy, growth, operations, and fundraising. Prior to Culina Health, Steven cofounded the NYU Tandon Future Labs, A/X Venture Studio, the NYU Center for Responsible AI, AI NexusLabs Accelerator, and NYCai, supporting thousands of founders from ideation to Series A and facilitating over $2 billion in funding, 50 exits, and an IPO. As NYU School of Engineering’s first Director of Entrepreneurship, he commercialized NYU’s IP, developed entrepreneurship programs including a global NYU ideation competition, launched an engineering entrpreuership minor and taught graduate-level entrepreneurship.

Jamie Kane, MD

Co-Founder & Chief Medical Officer

Jamie Kane, MD is co-founder and Chief Medical Officer. He is also Chief of Obesity Medicine and Director of the Center for Weight Management at Northwell Health.  There he oversees multiple clinics, an obesity medicine fellowship and key educational programs for residents. Dr. Kane is a senior contributor to the American Board of Obesity Medicine's, is co-chair of The Obesity Society's Policy and Advocacy Committee and was a founding member of the Tri-State Obesity Society. His research focuses on lifestyle interventions for disadvantaged patients, plant-based dietary approaches and mindfulness in obesity management. He is a nationally recognized speaker on obesity and nutrition.
